Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy's annual report, the highly anticipated Control 2 has successfully passed the concept validation stage and has now moved into full production. This milestone marks a significant step forward, confirming the project's progress and the studio's commitment to its development.

In addition to Control 2, two other exciting projects are actively being developed: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. Just a year ago, these games were in the preparation phase for production, but they have now advanced to the next stage, showing promising development. However, the project Kestrel, which was being developed in collaboration with Tencent, has been removed from Remedy's plans. It was canceled back in May of last year.

All these projects are being developed using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight. This engine has already proven its effectiveness in critically acclaimed games such as Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy titles, ensuring high-quality gameplay and visuals.

In terms of budget, Control 2 is set with an estimated budget of 50 million euros. The game will be self-published by Remedy and is slated for release on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Meanwhile, FBC: Firebreak comes with a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This project will be available on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services upon release, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 keep their budget details under wraps, but it is known that they will be developed to AAA standards. The development and marketing costs for these remakes are fully funded by Rockstar Games, ensuring a high-quality experience for fans of the iconic series.
