Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has announced a record-breaking year financially, with the game generating $43 million in royalties. The success story continues as the upcoming PC version is poised to surpass the sales of the original PlayStation 5 release.

According to Game World Observer, Shift Up's 2024 financial report showcases a remarkable revenue of $151.4 million, marking a 30.4% increase from the previous year. A significant portion of this revenue, $43.2 million, comes directly from Stellar Blade royalties.

The momentum shows no signs of waning, with Shift Up confidently predicting that PC sales will outperform the console version, particularly in the Asian market. The company is also set to unveil its new project, Project Witches, in the first half of 2025. Although fans have been clamoring for a Stellar Blade sequel, Project Witches was announced shortly after the PS5 release of Stellar Blade in 2024, before the demand for a sequel could fully materialize. Nonetheless, Shift Up has expressed interest in potentially developing another game within the Stellar Blade franchise.

In Stellar Blade, players assume the role of Eve, who fights against mysterious invaders to reclaim Earth through exhilarating action role-playing game combat. Despite receiving a 7/10 rating from IGN, the game has enjoyed widespread popularity, swiftly reaching the milestone of one million copies sold.

IGN's review highlighted that "Stellar Blade excels in the most crucial aspects of an action game, but its appeal is somewhat diminished by uninspired characters, a lackluster narrative, and certain frustrating elements within its RPG mechanics, preventing it from reaching the pinnacle of its genre."
