Bloober Team, the studio behind the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake, recently revealed a fascinating concept: a Lord of the Rings survival horror game. During a Bonfire Conversations podcast, game director Mateusz Lenart shared that the studio explored this grim, Middle-earth-set project.
Unfortunately, securing the necessary rights proved impossible, leaving the concept unrealized. However, fans widely believe the idea held significant promise, citing the wealth of dark and suspenseful material within Tolkien's works as ideal for a terrifying atmosphere.
Currently, Bloober Team's focus is on their new title, Cronos: The New Dawn, and potential further collaborations with Konami on Silent Hill projects. Whether they'll revisit the Lord of the Rings horror concept remains uncertain, but the potential for chilling encounters with Nazgûl or Gollum certainly sparks the imagination.
