GSC Game World has unveiled S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy – Enhanced Edition, a next-generation overhaul of the classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy. This upgraded collection launches on May 20 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The Enhanced Edition bundle features remastered versions of Shadow of Chernobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008), and Call of Pripyat (2009). Each title receives significant enhancements, including improved graphics, optimizations for modern consoles, and expanded mod support.
According to GSC Game World, players who already own the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy on Xbox Series X/S or PS5 will receive the Enhanced Edition upgrades at no additional cost.
On PC, the studio is offering the Enhanced Editions for free to existing owners of the original games as a thank-you to loyal fans. New purchasers of the Enhanced Editions will also receive the original versions. The trilogy is available as a bundle for $39.99, or each title can be purchased individually for $19.99.
Cross-platform save functionality between PC and consoles is not supported. Your save data remains specific to the platform you are playing on.
On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, players can choose from multiple framerate options. Standard modes include 30 FPS and 60 FPS, with additional modes targeting 40 FPS and up to 120 FPS. The 40 FPS and 120 FPS options require a display that supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) technology.
The console versions of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Enhanced Edition offer various graphical and performance modes: Quality Balanced, Performance, and Ultra Performance.
Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro support: Quality (native 4K/30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 4K/40 FPS), Performance (upscaled 4K/60 FPS), and Ultra Performance (upscaled 2K/120 FPS). Xbox Series S supports: Quality (native 2K/30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 2K/40 FPS), and Performance (1080p/60 FPS).
(Both the Quality Balanced and Ultra Performance modes are exclusively available on displays that support VRR technology.)
