GTA 6 Priced at $100: Would You Pay?

Author : Mila May 04,2025

In a recent survey, analyst Matthew Ball suggested that setting a new price point of $100 for AAA games by industry giants like Rockstar and Take-Two could be a game-changer for the gaming industry. The survey results were telling: out of nearly 7,000 respondents, over one-third expressed their willingness to pay $100 for the entry-level edition of Grand Theft Auto 6. This comes at a time when other publishers, such as Ubisoft, are pushing for extended editions of their games, yet fans of Rockstar's sandbox universe seem ready to embrace the higher price tag for the basic version.

Matthew Ball's statement quickly gained traction online, advocating that if major publishers begin selling their games at $100, it could set a precedent that might save the industry. He specifically pointed to Rockstar and Take-Two as potential leaders in this shift.

Rockstar has announced plans to update Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online in 2025, aiming to bring the PC version in line with the enhancements seen on the PS5 and Xbox Series. While specifics remain under wraps, it's anticipated that these updates will go beyond mere visual improvements.

Currently exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series, the GTA+ subscription might soon be extended to PC players. Additionally, certain features exclusive to the console versions of Grand Theft Auto Online, like Hao's high-speed car modifications, are not yet available on PC. There's a strong possibility that these extreme turbo-tuning options will become accessible to PC gamers in the near future.
