While not completely dismissing the possibility of a Switch version, Takuro Mizobe, the head of Palworld, has voiced concerns about the technical challenges associated with porting the game to Nintendo's platform.

Palworld Boss Highlights Technical Hurdles for Switch Port ------------------------------------------------------------------Pocketpair CEO Discusses Future Plans
In a detailed interview with Game File, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe delved into the complexities of adapting Palworld for the Nintendo Switch and shared insights on potential future developments. Although a Switch version isn't entirely off the table, Mizobe highlighted significant technical obstacles. He mentioned ongoing discussions about expanding to "new platforms," but emphasized that Pocketpair currently has no concrete announcements to make.
Despite the high PC specifications of Palworld posing a challenge for a Switch port, Mizobe remains hopeful about broadening the game's accessibility. He noted earlier this month, "Palworld’s specs on PC are higher than the Switch’s specs. So maybe it’s hard to port to Switch just for technical reasons."
Mizobe has not confirmed whether Palworld will be available on PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile platforms. In a Bloomberg interview earlier this year, he revealed that Pocketpair is exploring opportunities to bring the game to additional platforms. Additionally, Mizobe mentioned that the company is open to partnership or acquisition offers, though no buyout discussions with Microsoft have taken place.
Aiming for More 'Ark' or 'Rust' Inspired Features
Beyond platform considerations, Mizobe shared his vision for enhancing Palworld's multiplayer features. The upcoming arena mode, described as "kind of an experiment," is a stepping stone towards more robust multiplayer experiences. "My dream is to achieve a true PvP mode in Palworld," Mizobe stated. "I want more of the Ark or Rust style."
Both Ark and Rust are renowned survival games known for their challenging environments, intricate resource management, and extensive player interactions, including alliances and tribes. These games blend PvE and PvP elements, with Ark featuring battles against prehistoric creatures and environmental hazards, and Rust presenting challenges like wildlife and radiation zones.
Palworld, developed by Pocketpair, has quickly become a sensation in the gaming world with its unique blend of creature collection and survival shooting. Players can capture creatures known as Pals, utilize them for base-building, and engage in various survival activities.
The game achieved remarkable success, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox through the Game Pass subscription service. Palworld is gearing up for a significant update with the free Sakurajima update, set to launch on Thursday, which will introduce a new island, the eagerly awaited PvP arena, and more.
