Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously found in other FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter, approximately forty-minute play sessions. He stated that the limited playtime doesn't allow sufficient opportunity for players to leave or read messages.
This departure from FromSoftware's established tradition of message-based player interaction is noteworthy. While these messages have historically enhanced player experience and interactivity, the team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate storyline. However, it retains the atmospheric richness and challenging gameplay of its predecessor, promising a fresh adventure with unique obstacles and encounters within the familiar Elden Ring world.
