Pity System in RAID Shadow Legends: Does It Boost Your Chances?

Author : Owen May 08,2025

In the world of RAID: Shadow Legends, the thrill of summoning new champions through shard pulls is often overshadowed by the notorious RNG (random number generator) system. The excitement can quickly turn into frustration, particularly when you're on a dry streak without pulling a Legendary champion. To alleviate some of this frustration, Plarium introduced what the community refers to as the "Pity System." This guide will delve into the mechanics of this system, its effectiveness, and its impact on free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players.

What Is the Pity System in RAID: Shadow Legends?

The Pity System is an unspoken mechanic designed to enhance your chances of summoning higher rarity champions—Epic and Legendary—as your luck runs dry. Essentially, the longer you go without pulling a high-rarity champion, the more the game boosts your odds until you finally land that coveted pull. This feature aims to mitigate those disheartening dry spells where you might go through dozens or even hundreds of shards without a good champion. Although Plarium doesn't explicitly mention this system in-game, it has been verified by dataminers, developers, and the collective experiences of the player base.

Sacred Shards

For Sacred Shards, the base chance of pulling a Legendary champion stands at 6% per pull. The Pity System activates after 12 pulls without a Legendary, incrementally increasing your chances:

  • 13th pull = 8% chance
  • 14th pull = 10% chance
  • 15th pull = 12% chance

Is the Pity System Helpful for the Average Player?

The effectiveness of the Pity System for the average player isn't a straightforward yes or no. While it's designed to help, many players report that the system kicks in so late that they've likely already pulled a Legendary by the time the increased odds matter. So, while having a Pity System in a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends is beneficial, it could use some improvements.

For free-to-play players, the grind can be particularly frustrating when Legendary champions remain elusive despite countless shard pulls. The system is a necessity, but it could be enhanced. For instance, reducing the number of pulls needed to trigger the Pity System from 200 to 150 or 170 would allow players to save more shards and make the system feel more impactful.

To take your RAID: Shadow Legends experience to the next level, consider playing on a larger screen using your PC or laptop with BlueStacks. This setup offers an enhanced gameplay experience with the precision of a keyboard and mouse.
