Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Several Heroes
Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings (particularly 30 FPS) can expect a resolution soon. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations for certain heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, when the game runs at lower frame rates.
This issue, affecting heroes like Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom as well, has been confirmed by a community manager on the official Discord server. The problem appears linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common technique to mitigate lag. While the exact extent of the affected heroes and abilities remains unclear (though Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw are specifically mentioned), the discrepancy is more pronounced against stationary targets.
While a precise fix date isn't available, the developers are actively working on a solution. The upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th is expected to include at least a partial fix, significantly improving gameplay for players using lower-end hardware. If the Season 1 update doesn't completely resolve the issue, a subsequent patch will address the remaining problems.
Despite this bug, Marvel Rivals, released in early December 2025, has been well-received by the community, boasting an 80% approval rating on Steam based on over 132,000 reviews. The ongoing efforts to address the FPS-related damage issue further demonstrate the developers' commitment to providing a balanced and enjoyable experience for all players.
